Paleomagnetism and Geochronology Laboratory in Beijing

The Paleomagnetism and Geochronology Laboratory (PGL) in Beijing invites applications for 3-5 short-term visiting fellowships (up to 10 days), 1-2 PhD students and one post-doctoral fellowship in 2006 within the broad research areas of paleo-, rock-, bio-, and environmental magnetism and 40Ar/39Ar geochronology.

The PGL is one of the most comprehensively equipped research laboratories for paleomagnetism and geochronology. Our current scientific themes include the determination of absolute paleointen- sity of Earth¨s ancient field, 40Ar/39Ar and magnetostratigraphic dating, polarity reversals, fundamental biogeomagnetism, theoretical and experimental rock magnetism, and tectonophysics. Please visit our website at http://www.paleomag.net/visit for information regarding faculty research interests and facilities.
